proALPHA ERP at a glance
proALPHA ERP is an ERP system for mid-sized companies. It covers finance, purchasing, production, quality management, sales and service in a modular suite. Administrators and business departments run it as the central data basis for business processes, often with connections to human resources, shopfloor systems and other specialist applications. It can be operated in the cloud, on premises or as a mix of both.
The vendor delivers new versions and extensions through its customer and partner channels as well as its documentation. Some new functions are rolled out step by step to selected customers. Anyone who operates the system themselves should therefore follow notices from the vendor and the supporting partner actively.
When updating, much depends on individual customisations, interfaces and add-on modules. An update belongs first in a test environment with realistic data, so that processes, reports and integrations can be checked. Beforehand, a full backup of the database and configuration should be taken and a maintenance window agreed with the business departments. Dependencies on the database and operating system should also be clarified in advance.
