Radarr at a glance

Radarr is a self-hosted movie collection manager that originated as a fork of Sonarr. Sysadmins and home-server operators use it to monitor wanted films automatically, fetch them through indexers and download clients, then sort and rename them based on configurable rules. It typically runs as a service or container and is managed through a web interface, often alongside other *arr applications and media servers.

Development happens across several branches: a stable master branch plus development branches for early testing. New releases appear regularly and include bug fixes, security and compatibility adjustments, and changes to the API and metadata handling.

When updating, pay attention to the required .NET runtime and supported operating-system platforms, back up the database and configuration first, and review the release notes for breaking changes. For container deployments, verify the correct image tag and confirm compatibility with connected services and indexers before rolling out an update.
