SFirm at a glance

SFirm is a long-established electronic banking solution for professional payment processing in the German-speaking market. It consolidates accounts held at different banks and supports SEPA credit transfers and direct debits, foreign payments, and the German banking protocols HBCI/FinTS and EBICS. It is used above all by companies, tax advisors, associations, and public authorities that need to handle payments in an audit-proof, multi-bank setup on Windows workstations.

Star Finanz publishes patches at short intervals. Alongside bug fixes, these frequently carry regulatory adjustments — updated bank parameters, changed reporting formats, or new requirements from the banking industry. Because payment processing is tied to fixed deadlines and format versions, timely updates are not a convenience here but a precondition for smooth operation.

Before applying a patch, back up the client and database files and review the notes on database and network installations. In multi-workstation environments, bring every client to the same level before resuming payment runs or EBICS transfers.
