XPhone Connect at a glance

XPhone Connect is a unified communications solution that extends conventional phone systems with computer telephony, softphone, presence, chat, voicemail and fax. It consists of a server running in the customer's own data centre plus clients for Windows, mobile devices and macOS, and it integrates with a wide range of supported PBX platforms as well as Microsoft Teams. Typical deployments are hotline and service desks where call distribution and reachability are managed centrally.

The vendor ships the suite as major releases with multi-year maintenance, adding service releases several times a year in between. A single release covers multiple components — server, Windows client, mobile app, call controller and add-on services — which are listed separately in the release notes.

When updating, sequence matters: bring the server up before the clients, and keep server, client and call controller at matching levels. Before moving to a new major release, review the approval list for PBX platforms and operating systems as well as any announced discontinuations, since individual interfaces and legacy features can be dropped with a major version.
